Wood-Mizer was founded in the United States by Don Laskowski and Dan Tekulve in 1982. In these years, the first portable sawmill with a narrow band saw blade as a cutting tool was designed and manufactured. The company appeared on the Polish market in 1990 as a joint venture company, and in the following years it became an integral part of the Wood-Mizer Holding with 100% American capital. The company in Poland employs 413 employees designing and manufacturing portable and stationary sawmills from very small units for amateur use, to extensive lines for industrial wood processing from native material (logs of wood) to finished product (finished boards and wooden construction materials). Wood-Mizer is the only company in the world that produces not only sawmills, but also cutting tools for the them being called narrow band saws. The sales area of equipment and saw blades manufactured by Wood-Mizer's European headquarters includes European, African and Asian markets. Some products produced exclusively at the European headquarters are also sold to the North and South American markets. All together Wood-Mizer Holdings sold over 130.000 sawmill worldwide.
